When did it become okay to become wealthy off the backs of children just trying to make a team?
Say your son or daughter got cut or didn't make top team without saying it?
My kids have never tried out - ever. One child is special needs the other is a rec team type. How does it feel to expose your child to an organization where those in charge clearly care about money earned off the back of your child’s success or lack thereof? Because, certainly, if he didn’t care about money his salary would be commensurate with the ACPS athletic director.

Do you look up the salaries of all the CEOs for the purchases you make and post your thoughts on their salary?
Anonymous wrote:Is Alexandria Soccer Association a nonprofit like Arlington or not? If it’s a nonprofit, that seems quite high.

How much do you think a CEO of a similarly sized organization gets paid in Arlington? Complain all you want, but $$$ is the wrong path.
Why youth sports need a CEO is where it has all gone terribly wrong - kids do not have money, and kids also cannot control whether their parents have money.
Way to completely miss the point - They're not a "CEO" but I used that as a comparison and I bet a ton of non-profits with that amount of responsibility/revenue are paid similarly at the top. Again, barking up the wrong tree - complain about mismanagement or how your kid on the 6th team was treated unfairly, but this is large organization.
I actually have no kids playing - but as an Alexandrian, the monopoly of ASA and the City resources expended for ASA to see that the director is getting paid $400k off the backs of children is unbelievable.
It's quite believable because it's happening - again do you realize how many kids/families this involves. This is not a mom & pop operation.
It is significantly more money than the ACHS athletic director who also oversees middle school sports.
And this is a significantly more complex job. I don't think you are grasping how big this organization is.

Because it’s publicly available information.

No, but closer to something like $200k would be more reasonable. It’s an absurd salary, but many Alexandria parents also make absurd salaries at their jobs, so it doesn’t bother them.
