OP here. I didn’t discuss this with him before, because I knew how he’d react, and didn’t want to deal with it until later. He has no reason to be angry or to distrust me. I wouldn’t mind if he did the same.

may be the way he communicated was wrong but he does have a point. You are giving more attention or weightage to your convenience and group and not your group.

It sounds like maybe there should have been more conversation about the trip. "I'm getting tickets to fly to Sarah's wedding. Bill and I are going to coordinate since we are coming from the same airport" is a reasonable thing to notify your spouse about.

I think it sounds like he got upset because he doesn't like your friend and is suspicious. That he couldn't keep his temper in front of your kid is an indicator of how bothered he is by this situation. It is reasonable for you to be upset that he spoke to you that way in front of your child. It is reasonable of him, perhaps, to have some feelings about the wedding travel planning communication.
