Splurge: Keratin, builder gel nails every 4 weeks, Botox but I can stretch it to once a year because my metabolism sucks

If it is any consolation, my metabolism is also terrible but Botox lasts about 8 weeks for me. I wish I could metabolize that slowly and trade it for metabolizing calories.

Can you recommend good thrift stores? I keep wanting to be a thrift store person, but the stores I've tried are full of clothes that, well, I'd probably donate to thrift shop myself because I don't wear them.

I find thrift stores to be a waste of time. I prefer to look on EBay and Poshmark.

I’d rather just buy new clothes than shop on Poshmark. I feel like stuff on there is discounted like 15% at the most. Why not just get exactly what I want, new, when the price difference is so small.

Or I’m going to Unique, where I got my favorite shirt for $6.

Trainer, lots of tennis lessons, botox, lasers, Tirz, high end cut/color, Pilates studio, regular bikini waxes, Dyson hairdryer (although that was a gift I’ll replace when I need to), lots of massages although trying to cut down to 6x a year

Save: Down to only 1-2x a year mani/pedi, have experimented and now only use drug store vs. high end make up, use whitestrips now versus dentist teeth whitening. I want to make this Save list longer. I spend way too much $$ on all of the splurges.

what is tirz?

DP but it's almost certainly tirzepatide.

where did you do the work?

Splurge: a Brazilian every 4 weeks. I could do it at home but would chicken out after the first strip.

PP just do laser hair removal! I did a Brazilian package at Capital Laser in Rosslyn like 10 years ago - life changing. Need to re-do it at this point, but for the first ~5 years there was zero upkeep.

I think I’m really frugal appearance wise and my mom thinks I’m extravagant.
Saves: cut my own hair, don’t color it at all, use drugstore shampoo/conditioner, never get nails done, skincare from the ordinary
Splurges: Botox twice a year, micro needling when I feel like it, kerastase products that don’t get washed out, thrive makeup
But lots of women do nothing so maybe I am extravagant..

Saves: I don’t wear make up so not much spent on that; Costco lotions and creams; no Botox or any injections;
Splurge: quality shoes, good haircuts/trims

It's usually a *huge* waste of time digging through racks at the thrift stores than looking on eBay. Ebay has some really great deals these days. Most thrift stores racks aren't very organized, the clothes are lack luster and not in great condition and ill fitting buys that someone wants to pass onto you.

They're not mutually exclusive. I have a beautiful work wardrobe thanks to Poshmark, as well as some great finds from Unique. The former works best for specific items I'm almost positive will look good on me, whereas thrifting usually yields something unexpected.
