My husband did really good this year!! He asked exactly what I wanted to do. I said a nice hike with the kids. He planned everything/picked a nice hike to a waterfall/packed a lunch/got up and got the kids ready. Now I’m relaxing inside and while they clean out my car - I’m the one that drives the most so mine gets dirty pretty quick. Kids are 3 and 5 and actually excited to clean lol. They like to use the vacuum/hose.

Husband asked if I wanted to go out to eat or stay in - I said prefer to stay in so he’s also going to cook dinner (which is normal in our house- he’s the best cook)

All in all a good day. My husband and I have been working on communication so this is a big win for us. Asking directly what I wanted to do, me telling him a basic outline of the day, and then him planning everything.

My son (only child) who ignored Mother's Day all thru his teen years, texted me happy Mother's Day at 7AM and told me he is grateful for my resilience. I got to take my granddaughter to the park for a few hours after taking my mom to the local farmers market for a few hours. My daughter in law and I truly love each other and I brought her a baked treat and a latte when I picked up my granddaughter. I think this is as good as life gets.

My kids (ages 5 through 11) are actually in the perfect ages where they’re all fun to be around. My youngest is independent and able to sit through a nice meal and my oldest isn’t quite fully into the tween snark yet.

I got to sleep in, the kids made me cards and brought up coffee in bed, we went out to brunch then a long family walk. Everyone is pleasant and getting along, no tantrums or bickering. My older 2 have started some laundry like I asked. This is my best MD is probably a decade.

My husband took all 3 kids out and I have the house to myself for the day. It is bliss.

Mine is fine! DCs (2 and 5 y/o) made Mother's Day crafts at church, Moms were acknowledged during the service and given a flower, which was sweet. It was also acknowledged that this is a hard day for many. DH is in a mood, has made a point not to say Happy Mother's Day or do anything because he hates Hallmark holidays and feeling obligatated to do anything he doesn't want to. Yes, unforunately our marriage is otherwise on the rocks for myriad reasons. MIL is estranged so no word from her, and my mom is out of town this weekend but we chatted earlier.

However, I'm at peace and happy overall, chilling and lounging around after snuggling DCs. Will probably order takeout later.

We had a game today! But I don’t mind at all. Fun to see other teammates families, many of whom I like. I am going to do something girly with my mom and daughter and then the whole extended family is coming over for take out. I am trying really hard to keep a good attitude even with little nonideal things in both extended families and my husband constantly asking me exactly what we should do for every step of the way- I do believe he wants me to be happy with everything. I did have a momentarily lapse this morning (annoyed about something with one of my siblings) but I am trying hard to let it wash over me like water and move on grateful for my beautiful kids.

That’s crazy. My MS kid is in a pretty intensive travel sport and even his practice was canceled for today. I don’t know why any little kid sport would still be having practices or games today.

My husband died and the kids are too young to provide gifts.

At peace - going through the hormonal release of yet another failed embryo transfer, and this time around was the first time I actually cried over it. Was worried I might get sad at Mothers Day brunch meeting BIL’s newborn, but seeing that sweet baby was like watching the ocean. Peaceful and joyful, like sunshine glittering on the waves

It's a bit of a bummer to be honest. Every Sunday I order in from the same dim sum place, but I forgot they don't do delivery on Mother's Day bc they're so busy. This changes up my Sunday morning routine. They don't open for delivery until Tuesday, so now I have to think about if the chicken breast I cooked Friday night will last until then or I should eat it today and then get new chicken delivered and cooked to add to the dim sum soup I'll order Tuesday.

Tweens/teens (12 and 14 girls) and my DH made me a nice breakfast with bagels from a place I love, the girls picked out a couple of e newton bracelets for me and then they gave me a huge basket of candy (I have a massive sweet tooth since I gave up drinking a while ago). They also threw in a book (huge reader) and some new tennis skirts that I love in my new size.

Played in a tennis tournament (won!) and hanging out in the AC until the second match starts at 3. Then off to my sister's to swim, dinner and celebrate my mom.

My life has NOT looked like this basically, ever. But a move closer to family, quitting a stressful DC job and prioritizing my health this past year has finally made me FEEL like a good mom and I'm grateful for a day like today after so many sub-par Mothers Days of past.

Had a SUPER annoying visit with my mom this morning, but got that out of way and then got lovely calls from my own kids, will go out soon and take a walk in sunshine, dh/ds will make dinner tonight. Grateful for the family I have made for myself as it is so much better than the one came from (the mom part at least)

My tween is grumpy but we had a nice breakfast out. I’m just relaxing and doing whatever I want otherwise.
