My husband is a college professor and just called from the other room to say he is now able to log into canvas. So maybe the outage is over?

Most students can't access their study materials because it's all in Canvas. While some may have it all downloaded, most just access it from there.

This is going to be terrible if it's a lasting outage. At the university where I teach, incomplete grades are changed to real grades with a form that is filled out for the individual student. Usually there isn't more than or or two of those in a given semester, depending on class size. No way the registrar will be able to handle tens of thousands of grade change forms. They'll have to extend the deadline for submitting final grades if this goes on much longer. A bunch of seniors may be walking in the ceremony not knowing if they passed all their courses to graduate...

My daughter sent me the latest message from her University because she didn't know what it means for tomorrow. The message was useless. It was basically that they are aware of the issue. She reached out to the professor who said she has not received information. These poor kids!

GMU affected too. In the middle of finals week. What a mess.
