I just checked the standings and all of the teams on the boys side have terrible records. One team was .500, the rest were all in last or second last place and there was even a team that has a -80 goal differential.

It’s not much better on the girls side once you cut out the 2012 and 2013 teams.

Would be a great boost to the competitiveness in the area if this club could get its act together. I don’t think it’s a case of too many teams, rather a lack of effort by this club to attract the 4-5 quality players they need from neighboring teams. Look at Villarreal, FPYC and grab a couple kids. I doubt anyone drives from more than 8-10 miles to play for FVU. What they have isn’t cutting it.
they can evaluate talent plan and simple.

VDA 2013
6-7-5
Ranked #6 out of 10

VDA 2012
4-8-6
Ranked 6 out of 10

But I guess I’m clueless

If they poached girls from their current teams to play in a tournament this weekend. Eww.

Any team in pre-ECNL at u12 is off this weekend bc they put a break in the schedule so…

No one cares. He brings nothing but himself to the equation.

Well, himself and the core of the best 2013G team in the area and the only thing holding FVU together at the moment.

They only have U13 and up, so those kids won’t be able to play for U12. That means they can’t register for the ECNL tournament. I think they’ll end up using their feeder team and the group that will be U13 next year to play for them.

That is a lot of change over the course of about 5 years. As noted, the two youngest age groups are strong right now (at least on the girls side). If FFx Union can keep those groups strong, and have some stability, they have a chance to build a stronger program.

Aren’t a lot of the 2013s leaving?

The 2012's are in for a shakeup too
add the 2011s and 09s. 2010s already broke up last season. There is a reason they are still having ID sessions at the younger age groups.

The 2009s already brought in 12 new players last year. Are we saying there’s another shakeup this year?

Yeah some (alot) are unhappy with the club and are leaving

Why cant they get their act together. All kidding aside on the alliances, they are best positioned to get kids around the beltway, but are generally viewed as lower level/ path of least interest. The rising U13s will be interesting as a lot of kids chose FVU over GA. I think the coach is supposed to be very meh. FVU was able to pick up the kids that couldnt get into VDA and Arlington too far away for those on western side of FFX county. 4-5 from Valor, 4-5 who declined NVA, some 2015s who probably shouldn’t be on the team (roster spot fill), and probably some kids sprinkled from other clubs around the DMV (VYS, BRYC, etc.). They will probably be third in line between VDA and Arlington but probably more competitive than originally projected given the NVA exodus.

Prove it. I don’t think they got the offers you say.
I dont have screenshots of their offers buddy, but they told their teammates that they had offers, paid the deposit and then walked. Knowing the skill level of these kids, I do believe what they are saying and they would have received offers from NVA.

FVU is fielding a team in SC this weekend for the 2014s so I guess someone is on it!

How does that work? They don’t even have a u12 team?

I’m curious if these players will be abandoning their current teams this weekend.

Maybe they communicated to the team earlier and everyone was cool with it.

Parents wouldn’t hide something like this I don’t think?

They had UAges SuperY teams last year to start building the pipeline
Untrue. The pipeline is mostly raw and due to badge chasers. They couldnt field a team last summer. It’s one thing to lie, another when we can quickly look at the USL Y teams from last year and see there was no FVU U12.

Are you sure you aren’t talking past each other about boys vs girls?

I saw a girls FVU team play a Super Y game at Williamsburg Middle School last summer:

They haven’t been able to field a super Y team the last two summers for that current u12 age group (they were pre ECNL last year and tried to form a team but nobody showed up to tryout). Heard it’s the same this year. Even with all the feeders.
