I do not think Dartmouth is a larger LAC. There are lots of MS and PhD students. The professors all focus on publishing and research careers, wile LAC has no PhD and professors do more research with undergraduates.

How many departments at Dartmouth have grad programs? How many don’t?

I hope you’re joking. I’m not “Emory mom” even though I have a kid at Emory. Dartmouth hands down. But that’s just me- I loved the remote location and classic New England village look. Emory is great in its own way. However I don’t see a lot of overlap between Emory and Duke.

If you want a bigger LAC, also look at Claremont colleges. (They are more integrated than Amherst 5 college consortium.)

The idea that somehow the eight midsize private schools in the northeastern part of the country decided in 1954 to join arms and create their own athletic conference after which they would also be deemed the best 8 schools in the country is beyond stupid. Just read that back, it makes zero sense. The only significant differentiation between the HYP and the rest of the top 20 is their wealth.
