The school can suspend him and recommend a superintendent's expulsion, but the final decision is made by the district after a hearing. If he has a 504 and/or an IEP plan, they must review whether the behavior was related to a disability; that can limit expulsion but still allows placement in another program. Given the severity of the pending felony charges, MCPS will almost certainly place him in an alternative setting or expel him rather than send him back to Whitman.
If the expel him, where would he go to school? A special MCPS?

The fact that this kid knew the name means that he was into some deeply f'ed up stuff online.
I'm older but I've remembered the name Adam Lanza since the day it happened. Helps that he has the same last name as a buddy of mine.

By definition, pretty much any kid that burns down a shed and writes this kind of graffiti has mental health issues. This seems like a cry for help from someone who is pretty messed up. It’s sad it’s a kid.
He needs a hug.

I mean, this kid terrorized an elementary school, frightened kids and parents, and committed arson. I think it's reasonable that the community is curious.

He’s a minor. I’m sure this info is limited in terms of what is available to the general public.
