Catholics are pretty much universally hated in the south and not considered Christians by evangelicals so you got that going on.
I’m an ex Catholic from the North and I can’t say my opinion is much better for 90% of them. More interested in being told they’re right than doing right.

And remember in 2020 he was running against an extremely devout Catholic — the kind of guy who wears a rosary on his wrist every day so he can pray it whenever he feels the need. So the fact that Joe only got 51% of the Catholic vote is incredibly depressing to me as a Catholic. Not saying we need to vote for our tribesmen, but the fact that so many people would choose someone whose every choice in life is like the opposite of what Jesus would do….makes me feel like maybe the right messages aren’t coming through in the Mass.

There was a time that they didn’t give communion to people who were divorced. The Catholic Church switched that view..
Pope Francis made it easier to get an annulment, just because he don’t like it.

That doesn’t take into account the people that chose not to vote. So it’s more like 30% 30% 30%.
The increase from 2020 to 2024 is this Hispanic vote , ironically.
The propaganda machine on Spanish TV is in overdrive. It’s even worse than what we see.

As a Catholic we were always told that but we also knew it Catholicism is wink wink nudge nudge. We also pick what we follow like birth control for instance. Only a fool (or someone who wants more kids) sticks to the church approved methods.

Can you provide some evidence that Jesus wouldn't have been pro-choice? The Bible certainly doesn't say that.
I'm a Catholic who talks with and meets with people of other religions. I'm not sure why meeting with someone who is Jewish would be suspicious.
The Catholic Church is 100% unequivocally anti abortion.
No offense, but you're not on the same level as the Pope. Therefore, it's reasonable to question why a Jewish Democratic operative would be consulting with the Pope for any reason other than politics. They weren't chilling at a backyard BBQ sharing pics of their recent vacations.
You didn't say that the Catholic Church is anti abortion. i would, obviously, have agreed with you on that. You said that Jesus would have been.
You think the Catholic Church is against abortion despite the Bible saying it's good?
The Catholic Church is for and against many things that the Bible has an opposite view.
Like eating pork.
Through the years, the Catholic Church has commission people to “interpret“ the Bible text for their own gain. (so has every religious leader in the world.)

Jesus never said a word about abortion. The Bible doesn't have much to say about it, either, except for that OT passage directing people to conduct a ceremony to induce an abortion to figure out if a woman was unfaithful.

Getting away from the finer points of what infalibility is, the Pope is like the CEO who sets policy. The churches follow his lead. In my church bulletin now I've noticed chosen scripture passages about how we should treat immigrants which follows the Pope's comments on this issue, for instance.
