No they weren’t, they were willing participants in the whole thing. They knew there would be trade offs and some people were going to be hurt. Trump actually said so. But they were willing to sacrifice those other people if it got them what they thought they wanted.

Now that we’ve dispensed with that polite fiction, it is nice to see that even the deplorables have a red line. I was starting to doubt it even existed. Deplorable yes, but maybe not irredeemable.

Jesus, no, my parents aren’t awful people. The point is, people still supporting him are fundamentally broken in some way. You really have to be a bad person to still be on that train, and would you want people like that poisoning your life?

I certainly wouldn’t let my kids hang out with folks that are vocal in their support of a Trump despite everything they know about him. It screams bad judgement that likely extends into other parts of their lives.
