For Hero’s and M&D it’s probably about half and half - but IF you were correct, then you would be proving the point that good players leave their teams to join them as years go on

Scott Robinson is still the recruiting director. Anything beyond that fact is just speculation.

Let’s be honest, the M&D track record of recruiting was built on the reputation and relationships of the Robinson brothers. I do believe their involvement is ending of not already ended.

There is a lot more talent in the area now than in Years past, that is not to say Heros / M&D won't end up at the top again, but as the talent pool widens you get a lot more parity. You can see this happening in soccer. When the talent pool widens you also allow better coaches to stand out. I think we have all seen a team so loaded with talent before that any dufus could coach them to a title.

BTW, M&D is owned by a Private Equity firm, but only for the past 3 or so years, MDU and Coppermine are also owned by large for-profit "businesses" - i wouldn't place Hero's in this category or Skywalkers, but I do think there is a pushback to not join some of these money grabbing For Profit Entities.

M&D and Coppermine cost the same, if not less, than many/most local clubs. There is nothing more money grabbing about these clubs than any other youth club, with possibly a few small exceptions.

The idea that people en mass won’t join a top club with good access to resources and, in M&Ds case, an amazing recruiting track record - that continues to maintain a locally owned feel - simply because it’s owned by a for-profit entity is just not realistic.

Concerned parent here.

As someone with an older child, there aren’t as many cuts as people make it seem.

Just as often, players on top teams who are towards the middle or bottom of the depth chart will CHOOSE to leave for teams where they think they can have more of a role and get more playing time, while at the same time, the best players from the lower ranked clubs/teams will leave those teams for the better teams and take up their spots.

Thinking of the top teams in my DD year, I can’t think of many that have been cut in the last few years, aside from girls from Skywalker’s being shifted to the B team. I do believe Skywalkers is somewhat known for bringing in girls at older ages and shuffling others to B team, but this may be changing now that they are doing better with their youth teams.
