What does this mean? They accepted kids that work hard and strive and that's bad?
DP. "Striver" here means getting ahead by deliberately stepping on others and being cut-throat at every turn, it does not mean honest and hard-working.

Did they even reject people? It’s like 90% got waitlisted in RD!

No. Dedicating their entire lives to getting into HYPS. Brains wired only for college admissions.
You’re bringing some serious Tonya Harding-quality energy to the forum.
How? I can’t sabotage them if they’re already admitted. These two kids are known for hoarding resources and being the type to never help others out, academically and extracurricularly.
My guess is they’ll choose Stanford
Will take our Stanford admission thank you very much. You can wallow in your pity party and age prematurely as your stress cortisol levels spike.
LOL. This response is so disproportionate to the original comment that they will probably choose Stanford.
Mine is headed to one of the HYP so there is no pity party.

I knew a deferral was basically a rejection, but mentally it was still a lot easier to take than an outright no. It also gave DC the chance to stay calm and focus on essays over winter break.
And honestly, I appreciate that they did not waitlist after the deferral. It was a clean cut and made it easier to move on.
No hard feelings.

Our DC private has 5 Michigan admits year in and year out. This year only one in EA. The ED kids with the stats, legacy, etc. were deferred and waitlisted. How do you go from 5 annually to 1?
