Rich and famous, dressing up to impress and reward each other.

Too political, not the celebs or speeches but the process itself. Expanding categories to ensure noms are all inclusive. Movies and actors winning best whatever to ensure inclusion and not on entertainment.

If it's that or handing another really famous white guy an award for playing a differently mentally abled character, I'm all for it.

Best Foreign Film has been around forever.

I freaking loved Everything Everywhere All At Once. It's one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.

There are so many furry curries here. Get out of your suburban cul-de-sacs + go to the movies. They're cheaper to see than ever if you join the movie clubs such as AMC A List. I love the Oscars! Don't become sexless + uninteresting just because you have kids.

I think it’s a combination of things. Due to streaming, the industry is just saturated with things to watch and fewer people go to the movies. Years ago it was exciting to have to wait for something to come out. Movies have also gotten ridiculously expensive to go to.

The awards shows have become unnecessarily long and the fake skit stuff is hard to watch. Then every winner and presenter feels the need to make some holier than thou political stance. Even if I agree with their politics I have enough politics in my day to day life. I don’t need to see celebrities who are clueless about most real world issues spouting off and pontificating.

Like another PP said, social media has also made too many people celebrities and there’s too much access. People used to love to see the top actors and actresses arrive because we rarely saw them outside of their performances.

It's not so much the lack of diversity as it is the feeling that it's basically rigged. Maybe it's always been this way.

I do still enjoy going to the movies but a lot of content out there is garbage, like all the Marvel movies, "artsy" movies like Bugonia which are actually not remotely good (aside from the score) and just used as award vehicles for people like Emma Stone who have had so much plastic surgery their faces don't emote, or mediocre blah movies like Past Lives which don't deserve the hype.

I watch movies, but only on streaming because then I can fast forward during the boring parts. I tried watching "Frankenstein" which is nominated this year, and ended up fast forwarding 95% of the movie because it was so boring. Thank goodness I didn't pay for this drivel. I would have walked out and wasted so much money.

The awards show is long, boring and increasingly irrelevant as fewer people watch movies. Most of us don’t want Hollywood’s politics. Even if you may agree with their stance, I don’t need some movie star spewing their beliefs during what should be an entertainment show.

My Gen Z kids rarely watch movies. I expect Hollywood will become less and less relevant.

This is my issuee. I have not seen any new movies in two years. I only know one movie this year - Timothy Chalamet in "Mr. Incredible" - or whatever. I am not sitting through three hours of b9ring presenter banner to see if that movie wins.

I feel like they used to have interesting cultural moments. I used to be sat down and ready for the VMAs to come on each year as a teenager, and I haven’t watched it in years.

I don’t watch as many movies as I used to, but the biggest reason I stopped watching award shows is because they stopped showing the actual award parts. I want to see someone thrilled to accept an award, not another unfunny monologue, fifteen skits with people in the audience, etc.

I just don't watch movies anymore.
