I used to move Thermosat in winter to 50 degrees at 730 am and leave it there till 7pm when got home. I summmer I move AC to 80 degrees at 730 am to 7pm.
I also had two zone heating so once in bed I only had heat or AC on in top level.
working from home would cost me a fortune. My heating bill and AC bill was extremely little when in the office. During COVID it went sky high.
For example my last job was nearly all young single people. In the heat wave last year we were running in my dept only 100 air conditioners while we were remote. If we were in office they all could have turned off their AC.
