Absolutely not. I don’t want a husband dying early on me. And the stench. Hell no. I’d rather have an obese man than a smoker and that’s saying a lot.

25 years ago I did, and married him. Thankfully he quit after a few years, and hasn't touched a cigarette in nearly two decades. It grosses him out now too.

At the time, he only smoked outside or in bars (it was allowed back then), never in a home or car. Didn't bother me too much, but cigarettes were around a lot more back then - like in every bar. So I guess I was more used to it.

I wouldn't put up with it today. No way would I date a smoker now. But I love my DH, so I'm glad I did back then!

If someone smoked once or twice a year, I wouldn't care, but absolutely no cigars (triggering smell) and definitely no "casual smokers" because a lot of them say that but then turns out they always have cigarettes on them and smoke daily. Or they only smoke when xyz and make reasons to go do xyz all the time.

No way. When I was a kid I used to spend summers with my grandmother and she wouldn't smoke in the room with us, yet everything I owned would reek of smoke.

I was recently dating a social/drunk smoker and it sucked. His beard always smelled like cigarettes. I used to smoke socially but after I quit, the smell was more annoying.
