OP here- actually, polo shirts are a great idea and it's also true I don't want to look like Jake. But if anyone has links to non-polo shirts that are actually of the same type of cut, I'd be grateful! I have one from Athleta from... 5 years ago? And it's great!

Thank you! This is what I am seeking -- tops. Can you be more specific? The button-ups typically don't work well for me, but i am curious about what else you use.


I think a few of what I have were described as popover, pin tuck shirts. Some have a few buttons above but not across the bust. Another couple shirts I wear have a collar and v-neck w/o any buttons and others are similar w/o collar. Some of the thinner cotton shirts do button up but they're meant to be relaxed & breezy and I don't have an issue w/pulling. I can't find any great examples online right now.

Try tops with some detailing high in the collarbone area or the yoke. Talbots usually has some, I’ve seen them at Anthropologie too.

This helps to add interest but not too fussy during zoom meetings.

I’m trying to figure out where Dominique Ludwig (cookbook author on Instagram) gets her shirts.

Quinces linen shirts are so nice and look great - even when not ironed. I love them and don’t mind putting a small safety pin in to close the gap - like I do in most of my shirts.
