-^ older brother is broad, muscular and filled out. People who have seen him since he got home for the summer keep remarking to me how tall/big he is now. He was surpassed in 8th-10th grade and looked small back then.

Mine was 5’4” at that age. He just turned 18/senior and is 5’10.5” and so skinny (but has muscle). He has a baby face- looks 14. He is going to grow in college, for sure. He didn’t even lose all baby teeth until 17–very late getting last of adult molars.
Older brother graduated HS at 5’10” and is a 6’1” rising college junior.

Yep. Mine son had a similar growth pattern.
NP: one of mine did, as well. Was 5’3” on his 14th birthday, 5’4” at 14.5, and then 5’11” on his 16th birthday. So 7 inches in only 18 months. 8 inches in 24 months. It was nuts.
Our other DS had his growth spurt at a more “typical” rate and timeline (gradually between ages 12-15ish).
They are all different.

I’ve heard that the body stops growing about 1.5-2 years after the feet stop. My son wears size 7.5 at 14, so his feet are small! I hope this means that he will grow for a few more years.

Shoe size growth indicates stature growth potential; does not mean small feet mean short men. If feet are growing, he’s likely to continue growing in height, that’s all.

My DS was probably 5'5 or 5'6 when he turned 14 during 9th grade. That was AFTER his big growth spurt (he was under 5 ft at the begging of 8th grade). He ended up between 5'9 and 5'10. I'm 5'4 and DH is 5'8, no tall grandparents.
