I don't know who you think you're speaking for, but why do you think no one cares? Alums definitely care. I know some who stopped donating after Ryan was dumped.
I know some who gave a lot more after he was gone. Is this evidence, or some anecdote bassed on the two people you know who stopped donating?

New president did a great job at Darden. Great fundraiser, apolitical, brought great energy, and increased Darden's position in national rankings. So he didn't earn a Ph.D. by dissecting the allegory in Chaucer's early poems?
If he's the best person for the job, then why are you so afraid of him going through the usual vetting process?
Not afraid at all. But he already has the job. No need to relitigate the case just to appease a segment of faculty who won't be happy until Jim Ryan returns. He was an outstanding choice for UVA President.
Okay. Why couldn’t he have gone through a search that wasn’t rushed through before a new gov was installed?
Not everyone even would agree that the search actually was "rushed". Those who don't like him will say it was to justify their dislike of the president. Others say it was not rushed to justify their like of the president. Either way, a national search did occur.
Any UVa President serves at the pleasure of the Rector & Board. They can fire the current President if they wish and have sufficient votes among that set of people.

This. They have no defense or rebuttal for this claim.
You are completely wrong, as usual.
1) he might be a bit busy at the moment doing - oh I don’t know - maybe running a university?
2) he is unquestionably highly qualified,
3) he is apolitical, which begs the question:
4) why on earth should he be subjected to what would assuredly be a political-circus, with no other goal than for spanberger to install some purely political hack?
Yet pushing Ryan out was political. You don’t get do use political forces when you want and then try to play the apolitical card.

DP. His current status is the direct result of a massive political circus originating outside of our state. And nobody at that level is apolitical. He knew exactly what he was walking into.

Did you read the article? 191 faculty cared enough to sign a letter. That does not sound like no ones cares. It's the opposite!
+1
People obviously care about the unethical selection process.
