This. I wanted my daughter to have the opportunity to talk with a doctor and ask any questions she had, etc without me being involved.
I did reckless stuff in high school because I didn't know better but I didn't feel like I could talk to my mom who was super awkward.

You understand that a full pelvic exam isn’t required at a gyno visit, right? Or are you pushing fear narrative.

American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology recommends first visit around 15 to discuss female health (menstruation, HPV exam, to establish trust with a female health provider, etc). A regular Pap smear is recommended starting at 21 regardless if you are a virgin.

I don’t understand the rigidity of posters and all this does is make it “scary” to go to the gynecologist. This is how some women end up delaying care.

At college, she may get a UTI, an abcess, yeast infection, vaginitis EVEN WITHOUT BEING SEXUALLY ACTIVE and she will need to see a gyn there. Not wait until she's home .

This would actually be family doctor territory anyway. You don’t need a gyn for any of this and they tend to be harder to get into; you will end up with an NP or PA at the ob/gyn practice anyhow for this stuff. This is run of the mill stuff the general practitioners treat in student health clinic as well
