The UK has an evidentiary problem with charging Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor with sex crimes, because his known conduct at this time was not illegal in Britain. They aren’t trying to hide anything, they’re charging what they can, and perhaps in the course of the case, they’ll find more chargeable offenses.

They didn’t arrest him for sex crimes. He was trading national secrets to foreign governments for payouts. He was also giving insider information.
