🤣

Listen to this if you want.

My kid was no where near our current clubs radar and made 1st team in open tryouts.

People are afraid of competition so they discourage you. Follow the process and you will end up where your child is meant to be at the time.

If they have a 1st team mentality and work ethic, they will get there.

I’m at FVU’s boys ID session. Seems like a lot of current FVU players based on uniforms.

Is FVU ID session by invitation only? Or anyone who registered can show up? Other clubs will only invite a small subset of those who registered so the session will end up with a lot of current players.

If you missed it, too late. Offers already going out today.
if its not invite only we won’t know atm. Not trying to stalk the coach for answers. Hopefully someone hears something.

They were all at the same facility. You're a moron.

No you’re a moron if you think STJ soccer leadership can distinguish between a soccer player and a volleyball player. Your volleyball team would beat their soccer team today.

Are you jelly that they are getting MLS Next HG charter?

because its great for their marketing, and for parents to see how many other kids their kids "beat out" for the spot (without realizing most of those kids are just tire-kickers)

Honest question, why do open tryouts and have 100 kids show up? I get that they already have an idea of who they want, but in the off chance a kid shows up that would really add value, how can they even get seen? Why not just do invitation-only and be done with it?

I agree. I think at any tryout, a solid 50% of players are not at all interested in actually playing for that team.

TSJ Volleyball parent here - last night was CRAZY at TSJ for soccer tryouts. The parking lot looked like there was a tournament there.

That doesn't change the point being made. Unfortunately, everyone won't make the top team choice/choices that they want so people have to find an alternative. A packed tryout doesn't mean that it was everyone's first choice.

On Wednesday that same kid can be a boy, use the boys restroom. Who cares?! Gotta base the gender on how the kid is feeling in the moment, don’t be judgy.”

Don’t make this person upset. We’ve already had enough massacres this week.

Please stop talking about this topic. There are other boards for that and nobody cares.

+100. Thank you. Always amazes me how people (maybe one person or two people?) obsess about gender issues. Gender does not exist anymore, get over it, grow up, move along, we have the transfer portal to discuss!

Look, if someone feels a certain way, cool, do you. But to say something as dumb as gender doesn't exist is just ignorant. It exists for sure, it's either one or the other. How you feel or view yourself is another story.
