Congrats to OP and her DH. So glad it all worked out in the end. Hopefully, you all can look back on this and laugh. I wish DH all the best that this is a good, solid job that he likes for many years.

That's wonderful news OP. As a way to commemorate this, what if DH sends the hiring supervisor and one or two key players a selection of fresh pastries, a fresh-fruit bouquet, or even just some gourmet chocolates?

I hope that the company is better to its employees than its job candidates.

The ghosting is gross. Word gets around and they might not always be in the same position.

Congrats OP! That is great to hear and thanks for the update. My husband went through a similarly grueling process recently (8 rounds vs 13) but got ghosted in the end. Through that process, that company went from his top choice to the very bottom. I know companies don't care right now because they hold all the cards but if ever the job market reverses again, these companies better wise up.

This is crazy and he should quit pursuing that job and company now. The company is just wasting everyone's time.

The company already lied to him, and the process is clearly broken. The company is dysfunctional, and he shouldn't want to work there, even if they decide to make an offer. Agreed with an earlier comment that the company is likely using him as an unpaid consultant at this point.

That's absurd. One of the companies I worked for had a 6 step process and I thought that was ridiculous.

I'm sorry but how do companies have this much manpower and overhead to waste on interviewing individuals this long? I mean, it's not like he's the only candidate. There are others. Do these people have actual jobs?

I agree it's a major red flag. But DH can take the job if no other options right now, see how it goes, and keep looking and applying from a position of strength.

OP I really don't think you are getting the job. There is an agenda at work. Maybe they are milking your skills or it's sime politics about the opening and other candidates. Protect yourself emotionally.
