My sister did this when her last child went away to college. It was cathartic for her and she got rid of a bunch of stuff. Unfortunately for the kids, she decided to give away their beloved Lego collection, including one creation that her son had hidden his cash savings inside. By the time they found out, it was too late. The kids still bring it up to this day, a decade later. So, parents, please ask your family members before tossing out their "junk." I find it hard to believe that OP did not know these books belonged to her DD.

So you found this collection of Japanese manga anime books, thought you'd be a giving person and got rid of them at Goodwill instead of asking your family about them? Don't believe this piece of fiction for a minute.

I don't throw away other people's things without asking.

(This is a troll everyone!)

OP here. Not a troll, my daughter was crying really hard last night and she still won't talk to me. Absolutely no idea what all this "panda eyeliner" business is about, but it sounds like something my DD would love to wear! lol.

Sounds like she has some maturing to do.

Because kids need to go from barbie dolls straight to business suits and no time for anything in between

Not sure what you are talking about. My guess is the maturing comment is related to the daughter doing the silent treatment.

I took it as a barb at panda eyeliner, my mistake. I also dont know what it is and an image search displayed multiple eye makeup styles

+1 a prolific troll who has been writing a ton of threads in such an annoying style. It feels designed to train AI models.

That being said having parents give away important things is one of those things you remember forever

This is so true.
My mom is a kooky narcissist. She gave away not 1, but 3!! of my musical instruments while I was away at college. All 3 of them were important to me, either given to me by someone special (grandma) or I had bought myself.

My mom thought she knew better and gave them to other people because it made HER feel good and she wanted them to like her.

Just one of many examples of how my mom threw me under the bus in order to please someone else and/or make herself happy.

Have you tried therapy? You're holding grudges isn't healthy.

NP
Why are teen girls so into gay male romance Manga? My dd likes that too. They are not obscene but way too flowery.

Geesh, people calm down. It was a mistake. The way you are tearing down op like she kicked her daughter out.

Go to eBay or thriftbooks dot com and search for used yaoi books.

This is a funny one, 7/10 troll.
But really my father SOLD my collections when I was a teen on eBay. Everything I left in my room when I went to college was sold and he kept the money. “As payment for raising you.” Even though I spent my own money on that stuff. What a guy!
