They cannot require that an employee buy a personal smart phone, although most people do happen to have one. There are people at my work who still have dumb phones and only use SMS with T9 for messaging.

Also in the corporate world, you are not logging into multiple devices each day in multiple different classrooms

THIS. People who haven’t taught have no idea what goes on in schools these days. Most of the high school teachers I know keep their purses locked in their trunk. These women can’t keep a smartphone in their pants pocket. It will eventually get put down. It’s much smaller than an iPad, so it WILL get swiped. The headspace required to prevent this could be put to better use.

OP is ONE APS teacher - not the spokesperson for all APS teachers. While I know others may have concerns about the app, many do not.
I wasn’t happy about it until I realized it’s an app I already have and use. I will have to get better about not forgetting my phone in the car though.
It’s really the same dozen or so people who raise alarms and freak out about stuff. Then they spam Syphax and the school board and complain that response times are long.
