our non-DMV progressive school is having the worst early year in more than 5 or 10 years. No one understands what is happening.
Top 3 private GDS is bombing this year in admissions. My kid got rejected which was a huge disappointment in 9th. Went to public and headed to UPenn for business. Dogged a bullet and saved a ton.
You're not a GDS parent but it sounds like you still have a chip on your shoulder. There is no way you could know this.
People within the class themselves do not know how a vast majority of their 150 classmates are going or even where they themselves are going.

yes ED is more popular with girls at DS's school too. they want to lock something down early and sometimes have gone down a level in ED or ED2 to do so. the boys seem ok flirting with disaster.
Is this because girls are more risk averse or because the boys are more delusional about where they can get in? Are they typically rewarded for taking such risks?

Probably talking about NCS/STA/Sidwell. A lot of people don’t think of GDS as a big3.
