Not very often. I think it’s pretty rare that honking the horn will do more good than harm. Typically by the time you’ve reacted to whatever’s going on by honking it’s over and it either distracts the recipient and other drivers even further, or causes the situation to escalate emotionally. Maybe I would lay on my horn in a situation where I’ve lost control of the vehicle due to break failure or road conditions, or noticed someone else has, and it might help to warn people to get out of the way.

I pretty much only tap it when someone stopped in front of me isn’t paying attention and it’s time to move. I don’t honk just because I want to express frustration at another driver or let them know what I think of their driving. What’s the point?

Need to, like to try to prevent an accident? Maybe once a year. Maybe once a month to gently nudge someone zoning out or texting at a green light.

Otherwise I feel free to scold bad behavior via my horn when I feel like it.

In normal situations, early. But people have been driving like aggressive idots since it snowed. So every few days I end up “WTF are you trying to kill yoirself and me?” honking. Usually people who are speeding in lanes that will disappear because they aren’t fully cleared then swerve in front of me or I to my lane, or people who speed forward when they should pull over on streets that only have one and a half lanes cleared, causing an impasse with a car coming from the opposite direction . I’m actually reducing driving until things melt because it’s entirely too stressful

Rarely, I try a very small beep when the driver in front of me hasn't noticed the green light, but only if it's been a while, which hardly ever happens. Even if I'm running late, I don't beep for minor things - it's so rude, and it contributes to urban noise pollution.

I don't understand aggressive people who beep all the time. In my opinion, they're the problem.

There's always that one poster who chooses the kindest, wisest comment as a target. I guess it makes them feel small.

I drive daily probably use horn 1 x per month or less.

I find waiting at a green light for the person in front of me to look up from their phone the most tiresome part of driving these days. But i dont honk bc even when you do the friendly tap it comes off as aggressive.

I love using my horn, but it definitely does not happen EVERY commute! Maybe like once a month or once every few. I usually tell my husband if I "got" to honk so it stands out.

Honestly, I discovered during my car inspection years ago that my horn on my old car was broken. Have no idea how long it was that way because I hardly used it.

I blow my horn at Trump/Vance law signs every day. I use the horn every time I drive. People are too slow.
