Yes I worked at a private school in Baltimore four years and they always got handwritten notes from their interviewers and from the head of School and quite frankly GDS and other schools should do that. You’re paying $$55,000 potentially. They can take a minute to remember your child and what they discussed bc the interview is actually pretty important for admission.

Same for us, but years ago. I thought I would be more than happy if my kid ended up like those eighth graders. It's a very special place.

We loved our experiences with most schools - they were all cordial, professional and welcoming. GDS and Bullis especially.

I’ve heard of some families getting handwritten thank you notes from interviewers after their interview. That seems over the top! Do some schools really do this?

Funny, Field was maybe the only school that treated me with condescension when I toured as a prospective teacher.

Had the exact same experience.

+3 But I am a parent, not a teacher. It was palpable. Went back 2 years later with my next kid, same experience!

Good luck with that.

Why are you saying that? My son went to Gonzaga and his 4 yrs spent on Eye Street was amazing. He was well prepared for college.

Because it's hard to get in.
