If you choose not to go to bed earlier and wake up earlier to have a sit down breakfast, that’s totally fine. It just means having a sit down breakfast isn’t actually important to you.
For a teen involved in a sport or otherwise time consuming extracurricular activity and a normal homework load it’s likely a choice of a sit down breakfast or getting (closer to) the appropriate hours of sleep recommended for their age. I’d choose the latter any day of the week rather than waking my kid earlier than necessary.

I lean heavily on hot breakfast versus any other stuff. Kids need good nutrition and hydration before trying to learn, especially any kids (like mine) who would rather talk at lunch than eat.
I make a lot of food from scratch due to allergies (eggs and peanuts) for breakfast so that's where my time and energy go at night. Also, if I wake up earlier my kids wake up earlier.
