The meet is soooo long. I really think they need to put prelims and finals on different days if they can’t run it faster (dive over start, etc). It was 10:30 pm when we left after arriving at 7 am that morning. Sure there is a couple hour break in the middle but not really time for swimmers to rest.

It is an odd venue. They also keep the same pool for prelims and finals.

It is fold down seats. But you can't see anything. Only on section has viewing for the prelims. I should have not bought a ticket and streamed from my car.

I am surprised they don't have televisions anywhere in here to see the swims.

Districts and Regions are not the only place swimmers can qualify for states

We know. But if someone is seeded at states with a faster time than they were seeded with or swam at districts or regionals, then this is odd. Why wouldn’t they have seeded districts or regionals with this super fast dual meet time?

I've seen coaches put in slower seed times or NT for swimmers at districts or regionals in order to get that swimmer into a slower heat or to not to appear to be the favorite for some reason. The NFHS rule states something like "the fastest time on the entry card will be the seed time", but doesn't explicitly require all times for the season to be on the entry card.

Noticed that too. Do they seed with SWIMS times rather than HS season times?

VHSL rules require the entry for State's to have been swum during the any of the 10 allowed HS meets, districts, or regionals.

(2) The entry list must show those relay teams that place first, second, third and
fourth and those individuals that place fi rst, second, third, fourth and fi fth in individual events
in a regional championship or who were certifi ed by the regional meet director as having
met the qualifying performance times and/or scores for the state meet during the regional
championship meet or in a regular meet as defined by the NFHS rules book.
