My child's HS teachers have been in touch frequently during the closure and are clearly concerned about covering the material needed before May. They are working, hard, care about their students, and shouldn't be blamed for the superintendent and school board's decisions.
It’s not “blame” to say that we should use this time where children are not in the classroom to minimize unnecessary time elsewhere in the calendar where children aren’t in the classroom. There’s no reason to be early releasing elementary school students for the rest of the year if teachers are going to be home and unoccupied for the same number of hours this week. It’s not blame to use resources wisely.
