This and no one liked them. Bad name association

We’re not.
Oh - it’s definitely a Jewish name
I think American Jews are opting for more recognizably Jewish names for our kids these days. Names like Joshua, David, and Michael have become more ambiguous and associated with Christianity, so they’re less used.
I can’t say that I’ve met any Jewish Joshuas born within the last 25 years.

Anonymous wrote:I like how the OP asked for opinions on Joshua and there are more comments about Stefan than Joshua. That tells you all you need to know about Joshua. 😂 Nobody really likes it.

Don’t know him. My associations are the actors Joshua Malina and Josh Duhamel.

The only challenges with Stefan are people spelling it or saying it wrong (do you want STEF-in or ste-FAHN?)
I do like Joshua as well, and know people from various generations with the name. Classic but not common.

I hate having to guess how Stephen is pronounced when meeting one. Half of them pronounce it like Steven while the other half don’t.
How else would you pronounce it?
