That's NOT nice. Nice is being quick with the drinks. Nice is getting our orders right. Nice is not taking away from our time together to tell us something we already know.
Tell me you are uncultured without telling me you are uncultured.

I would never go to a sit-down restaurant a second time if the first time I had to use a screen to order. This isn't Olive Garden.

Dang next time just get a private chef and tableside service. You are a GUEST at a restaurant, and you are expected to be pleasant and polite. If you can't muster the minimum conversation with a waiter, GTFO
I'm not a GUEST at a restaurant. I'm a paying customer. I'm a guest in someone's home. I don't need to spend five minutes having someone explain how all the steak is in this section of the menu and right below it where it says you can add on a lobster tail? Yes, you can add on a lobster tail. Thanks, but I can read all of this in 30 seconds, and I'd rather spend the time with the person/people I'm dining with.
Again, if you cannot be a decent person to another human for a few minutes, you need to stay at home, ma'am

Yeah, but the waiter/ress/hostess are dealing with 21st century customers with a 20th century service style. people like OP don't crave for that level of service as others wish they could receive when dealing with people in offices, medical settings and other places.

Name the restaurant - assuming they had carafes to offer - that denied you a carafe of water?

5 minutes? This PP sounds unhinged. PP also sounds like someone at the table complaining about the restaurant while you are trying to enjoy yourself.
