Well, it really depends. If the son ended up using weed with GF and having group s*x, then obviously this wouldn't have happened with no GF/ different GF.

Whether or not she attends in a group will likely give a little insight into whether her family is aware of your son. If they are not, advise your son accordingly.
In any event, based on what I know of Indian American families, his grades are unlikely to slip and I doubt drugs/alcohol are going to be introduced to him by her.
Take the long view: He crushes on smart girls. This bodes well for his future.
