You don't feel safe?

FOCUS fool

And move move to another country because you are not an American

I think pp is saying they don’t feel safe because ice will target their neighborhood and do a shakedown.
If you see ice, call 911.

You're detached from reality if you think local police will interfere with federal law enforcement. At best, they'll stand idly by at the direction of their political overlords, it's more likely they'll ignore calls for service based on someone complaining that federal immigration is being enforced by federal authorities.

I have heard they won't interfere with ice apprehensions but will protect bystanders (protesters?) from ICE

Great. We can fire them then. They can go elsewhere and earn six figures with full benefits and pension. Might have to uproot their families and move far, far away though.

You want to fire them for refusing to interfere with federal law enforcement? Are you nuts?

Clearly nuts. Law enforcement officers enforce the laws within their remits, whether you like the laws or not. Try to change the laws if you don't like them. Asking local police to block the enforcement of federal laws by federal law enforcement merely reflect gross ignorance of the roles and authorities of different law enforcement agencies.

It would be wonderful if they just enforced the law. But the entire problem is that they have been given a mandate and told they have absolute immunity. If you weren't willfully trying to spread propaganda, you'd have enough time to take your head out of your ass.

Keep dialing 911 and see where it gets you.

If I see someone breaking the law that is my right and duty.

Sure, but the mere existence & presence of ICE is not “breaking the law.”

Where is this? I’m the Frederick poster and would appreciate the info.

Yes, please name the neighborhood. I think that is, in part, the purpose of this thread.

200 ice creeps will be in Mont. Co on 2/1. ICE has been present from Four Corners down to Langley Park and have been spotted at East County Rec and in Glenmont. There hasn't been any major incidents or protests, so you haven't heard much. When those 200 creeps show up, things may get scary. I am hoping to avoid them even though they probably wouldn't stop me.

Yes this is what I’ve heard. But how to be proactive re this? Are there any ways to help ie or are we just waiting for the shi$ to hit the fan?

So is your point that you want ICE knocking on everyone’s door, including yours? Is your point that you feel safer around native born Americans? Can you clarify?

My point is (and I'm fairly certain that you already know) that my neighborhood is likely to see a lot of ICE presence considering is overwhelmingly immigrant. As an immigrant myself, I am worried because these goons are not following the law or the protocols. They have inadequate training and are not law enforcement in any real sense of the word. While I have been a US citizen for a long time now, I don't know if they'll even harass me, much less my neighbors who may not be citizens. Going door to door is exactly what they have done in MN and I have no reason to believe that they will not do the same in other places. They are trying to build a huge detention center in Hagerstown which is just down the road from me.

Does that make it clearer to you?

NP. If they come to Frederick, and you have brown skin, or generally do not look like a Caucasian America, they will harass you. The Minneapolis police have reports from their own officers being harassed and asked for their papers when they are off duty.

And that's exactly why I'm worried. I'm Eastern European but everyone always assumes I'm Hispanic. My neighbors are African, Indian, Nepali, Venezuelan, etc.
