If you feel like something is missing in your child’s education you can supplement at home. There are so many options for elementary school level. Start with books, print out worksheets you can both work on together, documentaries, science projects, what’s available out there is almost endless.

There are really no excuses if you want to supplement young students.

Prince George's County starts in 2nd grade (they are tested in 1st).

Depending on their school they can have differentiated instruction in regular class (what my kids school does, and we do get work sent home and they have a teacher coordinator in charge of TAG programming), pull outs, or they have dedicated TAG elementary schools that are grades 2-5 kids can lottery into.

My understanding is that DCPS cannot track. Families with time and/or financial means supplement after school.
