I live in a part of the country where very few people are familiar with my northeastern LAC. When I wear my college shirt, people “in the know” sometimes approach me (or if the situation is reversed, I approach them) and we strike up a fun conversation.

I wear sweatshirts from both colleges my kids attended, the college my nephews attend and the ones DH and I attended. It’s interesting the different comments or lack of comments I get when I wear one.

I like sweatshirts when I walk in the cooler weather.

We have a flag. Put it up when the U was in championship gamein sports. Put it up for a day or two. Also put it up to welcome our student home

I don't get why you would feel this way. Just because you are wearing college swag doesn't mean you want to or are living vicariously through your kid... I see this as no different than wearing a branded sweatshirt or any apparel with a logo/label.

As for myself, we have a sticker on one of our cars, Christmas tree ornaments, flag and sweatshirts. I attended a rival of my kid's college so I only wear my kid's college sweatshirt when I attend the annual game against their biggest rival.

T-shirt and sweatshirt. And I just discovered a tote bag from orientation that I had forgotten about, which I will start to use. I love totes for work.

Yes, because my DS gave it to me as a present. It's a sweatshirt that says the name of the Ivy he attends "Mom". I have only ever worn it on campus, I tie it around my waist as soon as I exit the property.

Yes, car magnets on my car and the shared kid car plus DH and I have t-shirts and he has a ball cap. Just a way to show our kids we’re proud of them and excited for them

I like the more obscure branding that is known to other people connected to the school, but not to the general public. That's more targeted communication to the people who are more interested in seeing it and striking up a connection.
