Now, I had a 5.5 pound preemie and we are in Newborn diapers for months!!! Please go get a few boxes of newborn. Size 1 will en way too big.

Similarly, get some newborn
or preemie clothes. Now, please! Size 1 will be HUGE. The baby may lose some weight his first week home; that’s not unheard of. You have plenty of money. If a couple of dents of size newborn long sleeved onesies are too small two weeks from now, who cares? You can donate them then. But please don’t make him wear clothes way to big to be frugal. Nightclothes should be skin tight, not loose.

I would also suggest getting an Arms Reach Co-sleeper so the baby can bright extent the bed. And a few sleep sacks that they can later on top of onesies for sleep.

Was your son living with her? If so, will he still?

I used to marvel at the moms in my grad program and now I know that a school schedule would have been easier to manage than a job. I've also learned that babies don't need as much space or as many toys and things as we are led to believe.

Along those lines...Regarding strollers, I like the Graco frame that holds a baby "bucket" car seat. And simple umbrella strollers after that. And try to borrow things like exersaucers and swings. Only some babies like those and they are only useful for a few months.

It is good to have two car seats. Your son may need one also. It's a pain to switch them because you want to make sure all tethers and belts are snug.

I am leaving the child support and lawyer stuff to him and his father. His dad was never a super present dad raising our own kids so as far as I am concerned he can do all that. There will be child support.

They are getting the baby out of the NICU today ahead of the snow

I have about 5 cases of ready to feed formula that have arrived, both similac and enfamil. I know now there are particular differences but maybe he'll eventually tolerate both. I am already hooked up with an infant / young child social services charity about a mile from my house, so it won't go to waste either way. I already donate things I crochet like caps and blankets and buntings.

Counting, I have about 550 diapers size 1 and a case of wipes for her, I'm sure she'll go through them.

I bought a car seat but someone else donated one, that's all cool, too, if I ever babysit it's good to have two. She has several aunts who are also getting involved this week so she'll be good.

My older son is flying in from London this afternoon to go ride out the storm with him at his home and do some older brothering.

My 36-week babies (not twins, but both early) were in preemie clothes about a month, then newborn clothes for another 2 months. We used newborn diapers for a while.

I'm send them gift cards or cash. My friend's twins were in the NICU and one of them didn't come home for 2 months. So you don't know what the baby will need when it gets home because right now you're not sure when that is.

I liked Campbell's vegetarian vegetable soup when I was pregnant and after delivery. And Chicken Noodle and Chicken and Stars. Canned soup is easy. Also dry cereal.

I didn't change my eating habits or have much difficulty once my babies came home. I didn't eat lunch meat during my pregnancies so I was happy to go back to that. Sandwiches are easy to make.

Agree with smaller diapers. Maybe a hooded towel if your family are daily baby bathers.

I liked the Boppy breastfeeding pillow. I think they work for bottlefeeding too.
