My then BF cooked a steak dinner and served it with a really good wine from his cellar. He baked an incredible flourless chocolate cake for dessert. And he gave me a vintage necklace by a designer whose work I love, which showed that he listened and remembered my comments about the artist. This is our first Valentine's Day as husband and wife and we're planning to do something similar again. BTW- I gave him a gorgeous hand-knit sweater from Ireland that really brings out his eyes and he loved it.

Nothing. Wish my mom told me to marry rich. Instead I work, parent, and I got nothing. Same for other holidays. Miserable life.

The point that I’m trying to make is that many years ago, before we had children, I used to care deeply about holidays like Valentines being super romantic and special. But life gets real, really fast. If your partner is the one that you want to spend the rest of your life with, find some meaningful was this Valentines to show him or her that you will be there through thick and thin. That’s true love.

So, what are you getting this amazing man this year?

We broke up shortly after.

Plans with my current BF is to go see Wuthering Heights and then a drag burlesque show. Very excited for it!

Hasn’t equality been a thing for quite a while?
