DP. I’ve got two guesses. Either it’s Soma from “Brave New World” or someone who thought they had a unipolar depression actually has bipolar disorder, got put on a stimulant or SSRI, and is getting manic.

I would just try to be happy for my friend.
Hopefully her new relationship will work out but if it doesn’t it appears she will have an easier time dealing with the fallout due to her emotions being regulated by medication.
