If you really look in to it. It seems he is claiming he was in the IDF but not really. It’s the worst. He is claiming stolen value from IDF soldiers committing genocide. It’s should piss everyone off.
You seem to be out of touch with current politics if you think being in (or in this case claiming to be in) the IDF has any cross party appeal. It has as much cross party appeal as wearing an anvil around your neck while trying to swim across the English channel.

The fact that he’s Jewish isn’t what disqualifies him. It’s the support of Israel, and the implied support of Israel’s policies and actions.
To be clear, Israel doesn’t have a right to exist. No country has such a “right”. Continued existence is based on the will of people. But if Shapiro could learn to understand what most of the rest of the world is seeing with their own eyes, the sky would be the limit.

This 100%. If he disavowed Israel despite being Jewish, the usual antisemitism claims that have become part of the playbook wouldn't have worked. And the increasing anti-israel and anti-genocide public sentiment would have worked in his favor.

Please tell readers what coming “off as Jewish means.”

Well, the will of Israelis—that is, the people who live in Israel—is to continue to exist.
