I would have moved my child to another team already.


Im completely flabbergasted that parents will drive their kids to spend time with an abusive coach 3-4 times a week even after being aware of it. Its 100% on parents who put their kid in that situation.

Not every coach is like that, I can attest to it , otherwise my kids wouldnt still be playing.

Outraged parents? What exactly did they do? Are their kids still on the team? Did you or anyone else pick up a phone and call the club director? Or did everyone just act like cowards like they always do?

Seems to happen more often than we like. They would justify that it’s the competitive environment and blame the child is weak and needs to toughen out. Any adult who feels that is justified to bully a play under 18 shouldn’t be coaching youth players.

If the lines are “blurred” it’s abuse. You just accept it because you think the coach playing your daughter or son means they’re good or you accept it because you think she’s getting recruited. Just accept that by doing nothing you are telling them it’s ok to be treated this way and they will likely let others treat them this way also.

It's futile to think they will. They will protect each other before they would side with the family or family. Better to leave and have peace then try to fight it because it's the right thing to do.
