Once a week with different friend groups. I am currently working FT, am an empty nester.

Short answer: lol, no.

Longer answer: I work full time in an exec role. My “social life” is waving at neighbors on walks, making pleasant small talk on bleachers, and occasionally locking eyes with another mom at a tournament like we should do dinner sometime… which we absolutely will not.

Friends without kids? Maybe a few times a year. And that’s if calendars align, children don’t have games, no one is sick, and Mercury isn’t in retrograde. “Saturday night plans” usually mean sweatpants, something half-watched on TV, and falling asleep mid-sentence.

I’m 100% mom during the week and most weekends. This season is just… this. I’m not complaining about it (I love my life, including my friends!). But, we don’t have any nearby family, and we work so hard that we try to be 100% in on our kids and family outside of work. My hypothesis is that anyone claiming weekly girls’ nights either has a live-in village, unlimited childcare, or is lying for the internet.

Wow the number of people who report having pretty much no social life is surprising to me.

What friends?

Full time. Probably once every 3 months.

I consider several of my coworkers friends and have coffee breaks with them frequently.

Once or twice a month

Work full time

Barely 1x year. I need to make new friends who are not dependent on alcohol to have a good time.

Once a month neighborhood book group with mom friends, once a month one-on-one for lunch, dinner, or a long run with one of my 4 closest local friends who live within 45 mins of me. I work full time (WFH).

I go out with friends about once a month to dinner. One girls get away trip and maybe a spa day per year.

-Coffee or lunch once a week
-Evening activities vary by season, summer time and holiday season usually at least 1-2 nights a week, plus tennis meetups, pool/beach time together, barbecues
-January and February are pretty low key so maybe just twice a month for something casual

Try to start a book club or something with a set monthly meet up. Thats what I do and it works well.

When we do get together its sitting on the couch drinking Ollipop with the TV in thr background chatting about work, friends, "remember when stories"

This is me too. I’m fine with it except I’d like to see my BFF more but I live in Va and she lives in Md.

Once a month and trying to make it twice a month this year. Work full time with teens.
