We cannot afford to continue to support a never ending influx of illegal immigrants so that you can get your condo cleaned and your leaves raked at a cheap rate.

Public education, particularly in cities, is a complete debacle. Illegal immigration has eliminated housing options for the poor.

Unless you’re willing to take in an illegal immigrant step aside. You created this problem.

MD overall is #21 in the country in terms of hispanic population, VA is #23.

Ah yes, Virginia with its GOP governor for the next three days. Expect the VA crackdown after Spanberger takes office/Youngkin leaves office.

Though the insane doubling down in Minnesota after ICE officer Jonathan Ross killed Renee Good may delay the VA crackdown.

It’s not a targeted crackdown on Dem states, PP. Republican governors are cooperating. Dem governors are using this to cause a scene. That’s the difference.

Nope. Blue states are getting targeted. Red states, like Florida, are not.

Aren't they tied up already? How many ICE officers can they possibly have?

That’s interesting. I think PG’s government and LEOs are less political than MoCo on an issue like this.

They are meant to help people here, but I fear they will hurt undocumented community members by bringing more vindictive ICE activity instead.

Neither the state or the county has the authority to ban federal agents from public property. I guess they are interested in giving Trump a reason to invoke the Insurrection Act.

MD does audits yearly moron

It showed hogan stole millions from
Taxpayers spare us your stupidity
So Hogan stole millions and Maryland does yearly audits. Seems Hogan would be criminally charged by now. ? Did I miss it ?

Isn’t Virginia more of a target bc of the new governor?

Elaborate

You know, making sure to be stocked up on enough food and other supplies (medicine, toiletries, household items) to stay home for an extended period if needed.

Tensions since then have escalated. I don’t know if Trump was trying to provoke an incident, but he has certainly been exploiting it. I think he’s been ramping tension higher so that he’ll have an excuse to invoke the insurrection act. In this powder keg environment, every interaction between ICE and bystanders (active protesters or not) is fraught with peril. While it has always been important to keep protest peaceful, I think protestors should now focus on actively trying to bring tension down. Even if ICE arrests a protestor, lawyers and courts can eventually remedy the issue, but they can’t remedy death.

When he was teaching me how to drive, my grandfather said something that has stuck with me. He told me that occasionally someone would try to cut in front of me when I had the right-of-way. He explained that even if the other person was wrong and I was right, I should yield to them. He pointed out that although I might legally be right, I might be “dead right”.

Please everyone, whatever you may do, stay safe so you can go home to your loved ones at the end of the day. Live to protest again another day.

Anyplace that declares itself a “sanctuary” for those that are illegal immigrants is potentially a target.

Bernie declared illegal immigration a Koch Brothers scheme in 2015 that would lead to depressed wages and displacement of American workers.

What happened?
