Same happened to our son. Guess we didn't donate enough, LOL

Son also pretty happy as well. Philosophy major with econ minor. It's worked out.

Rejected from Cornell Engineering.

Attending UMD Engineering + Honors/merit. Kid has a good balance of academics, clubs, and playing/watching sports; also gets along well with randomly assigned roommate.

There's no separate process, but it isn't necessarily simultaneous with offer. Some ED applicants get it with their offer, but I believe most Monroe offers (whether to ED or RD applicants) come around the time of RD notification. Mine was RD, so it came with the RD offer.

I dont really think "it works out in the end" is always true. transfer stats make that plain.

Which flavor? Some engineering fields are easier than others.

Two data points here: Stanford rejected, attends Rice, and loves it. Tufts ED deferred, then waitlisted. Attends BU - first semester was hard, but loved it by the second semester.
