If she doesn't have interests, you need to get her involved in something to set her up for a possible career. She could be a dental hygienist, hairdresser, vet technician, or at least go to community college. Hasn't she had to take tests at school to figure out what she might be good at? She's still developing. Don't write her off yet. Help build her self esteem. Also, she might need to gain more independence to figure out who she is, which means spending time without being attached to your apron strings. Some girls don't have any ambition but that doesn't make them lost causes.

Assuming this is real, if DD has no friends, activities, or interests, how does she fill her time? Could phone/social media and related mental health issues be preventing her from living life?

She's a senior? And it's January. Have you discussed what she plans to go after graduation, if not college? I assume she didn't apply to any.

You could have called my brother a loser at one point. He went to a tippy top school, had a sky high IQ, graduated early… but never made a successful transition to adulthood. A nice extroverted life of the party type and band leader, he lost his close friends one by one. Little did we know he had been diagnosed at college with schizophrenia. I wish my parents had seen the signs and dragged him to therapy. It only got worse until he took himself to therapy decades later.
