The first season had a big plot point about how the COVID pandemic gave him PTSD, and this season he is imminently going on sabbatical. I think the show is asking us to draw conclusions.
The conclusion: he lives in PA and they don't have a helmet law
Noah Wyle in an interview notes that the audience was onto something re:helmets.

Living in PA, the "helmet law" as stupid as it is, is a point of pride which they may just be showing off in the show. I put this in the far too obvious to be a plot point, but we shall see!

His replacement is such an annoying character. Not in a good way. I love Mel and the nurses.
Didn’t love Druggie Doctor burdening the patient with a confession about stealing the guy’s pain pills. Wtf?

No
She's not junior to Robinavitch
She's not a past partner of Robinavitch
Meaning in terms of being boring and annoying.
+1
That actress, Sepideh Moafi, played the lead detective in the show Blackbird with Taron Egerton. She was awesome.
I don’t know how someone can call her boring or annoying from that first episode.

A friend of mine was a neurosurgeon and he never wore a seatbelt.
Basically, said he doesn’t want his brains to have to be put back in his head if the wreck is that bad. 🤷♀️

I prefer to wait for full seasons to be released anyway because I prefer binging to watching week to week.
I binged season 1 and I’m glad I did. It was so emotional going through it back to back that way.
