Drugs are not a big deal. You just have to talk to your kids about them.

Mine knows to rotate among Delta-9, Kratom, and Spice in the mornings so he doesn’t get addicted to one. Plus, this lets him take whatever the lunch ladies are offering for a midday top-up.

Evenings are more difficult, but he generally complies with “not after 8” so it doesn’t impact his sleep. If he decides to go out “wildin’” with older boys and his uncles, well all bets are off in those cases.

My kid is in 8th at Hardy and has had a great experience, is very prepared for high school and has great friends. Has done Model UN club and sports but also is in a high school physics elective after taking advanced math through geometry. Friend group is about 20 based on bday celebrations and none have reported any drugs or related concerns. Doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen but it’s not affecting/interfering or even in the realm of awareness of high achieving kids who are happy and soaring.
