FSU is really competitive - would have been/is a great environment for aspiring young players who want to go pro. Look at what happened to O'Steen and Anderson, two decorated YNT players. Both hardly played at FSU. (Both players will be fine in the future - just was a tough year in college). McKeen should have tried a year or two and shown that she was dominant in that environment first (on a free ride with NIL). Lots of playing time, matured some.
This is said as a parent of a young player who was offered a 3 yr contract from NWSL. My daughter is giving college a chance and doesn't feel ready for the pros. She trained in that environment for over a year and would come home talking about credit scores (wondering if hers was okay). I'm glad she's around people her own age for a few years before making the leap to the pros.
