Trying to find other kids for your children to play with is not a consideration of most families when they book a “family” vacation. Quite literally the vacation is for your entire family. Parents of only children have a very weird way of looking at the world and how they expect the world to look at their child.
Please stop stereotyping parents of only children this way. Most of us have views totally opposite from OP regarding family vacations.
What on earth did OP say that you find so offensive as an only child parent? That they would like to stay somewhere that has other kids around. Ooohhh. So horrible. What bad parents.

But on the whole, we wouldn't go back to T&C. Snorkeling was good on a boat trip over to West Caicos with Big Blue but in Grace Bay itself a bit murky and overcrowded and underwhelming.
We would go back to Grand Cayman. Better snorkeling, much safer vibe.
Having been to both multiple times, I agree with the Cayman take. The beaches and clear water in Turks (and the Bahamas) are slightly more breathtaking, but Cayman is safer, easier to explore, and the restaurants, shopping, and airport/infrastructure situation are better.
