Turks does have great water but probably one of my least favorite islands...boring. So many better. Explore!

I found Turks boring. Nice beach, but not much else to write home about.

We love Turks. There is a cute little shopping center walkable from ritz.
We have also stayed at somerset and seven stars.
We like the ritz best. Great food in Turks. I would go.

The Edition Kanai is gorgeous and kid friendly. Highly recommend

All beach resorts that aren't "adult-only" have kids around. Have you ever been to a beach resort? Swarming with kids - couldn't avoid them if you tried.

We’ve gone to Mexico many times with our kids and love it there. The beaches are not going to be as beautiful but we can echo everything else positive that’s been said. It’s an easy flight with great customer service and we’ve felt extremely safe. As the kids have gotten older, we’ve taken more excursions off of the resorts to cenotes, ATVs and things like that. Mine have never really wanted to find other kids to hang out with though. It’s been a fraction of the price of places like Turks.

With today’s news, who knows what will happen in late March?! Maybe Caribbean isn’t best bet.

Turks and Caicos has a
Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution safety rating from the U.S. Department of State and Canada due to crime, particularly armed robbery, gang activity, and recent violent incidents, especially on Providenciales, though tourist areas are generally safer; travelers should be vigilant, avoid walking alone at night, and be extremely cautious with firearms, as possession leads to severe penalties.

Rent a condo on Seven Mile Beach/Grand Cayman or stay at the Westin, Kimpton, or that fancy boutique hotel with the yellow umbrellas. The Ritz is way too crowded imho.

Or go to Puerto Rico. Both Grand Cayman and PR are safe enough to rent a car and explore (which you can’t do in Turks, Mexico, DR, Jamaica, etc.).

Having been to both multiple times, I agree with the Cayman take. The beaches and clear water in Turks (and the Bahamas) are slightly more breathtaking, but Cayman is safer, easier to explore, and the restaurants, shopping, and airport/infrastructure situation are better.

And adding that for both of these destinations, you are well advised to book dinner reservations long before you step foot on the island. The better ones get fully booked during peak vacation times—especially Turks.
