I asked about an increase in both salary and what they’re offering for relocation. He intimated that if I were in a higher-status role the negotiation would be easier/ a no brainer, but seemed to indicate my asking was an inconvenience and/or out-of-line. Obviously I didn’t really feed into his intimations but is this a red flag or a normal recruiter response?
It means you aren’t the hot shit you think you are. The fact that you had to come post this here indicates the recruiter is probably right.
I mean, come ON. Are you clueless?
Yep. OP is most likely a woman and should know her place, amirite? Keep quiet and accept what is offered to her. A woman negotiating salary? What will happen next? Women driving and having a separate checking account?
Whatever are you prattling on about, you silly twat?

OP, ignore these people. Hold the line and demand the comp you require to make the move.
I've had recruiters tell me the same. Thank them and move on. Don't waste your time with opportunities that don't meet your requirements.
Bingo!
